Biography

Jordi Picazo obtained a BA (Hons) and MA in English Philology at the University of Barcelona (1986). He also obtained a PGCE at the Institute of Education of the University of Barcelona during the 1985-86 academic year. Jordi is a member of the Il. lustre Col.legi de Periodistes de Catalunya, and the Chartered Institute of Journalists of the United Kingdom, a member of the RNA (Religion News Association) of the United States and the International Association of Religion Journalists (IARJ). He practices independent investigative journalism and publishes in international online media, and he is an Author too. Jordi started teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in mainstream schools in 1986, and he has also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in the USA to American immigrants who, in some cases, had been updating their English to obtain US citizenship for decades. From 1990 to 1994 he taught Spanish Language and Literature and Religious Studies in London as a qualified teacher (QTS). From 1990 to 1995 Jordi pursued doctoral studies at Birkbeck College, University of London, which he discontinued. During the years 1992-94 he worked as a full member of staff, part-time teacher at the world famous Harrow School. At Harrow he taught Spanish GCSE and A Levels and was also an assistant tutor for the 1993-94 school year. Harrow, together with Eton, is one of the most famous secondary schools in the world, having had as students Winston Churchill, King Hussein of Jordan, Lord Byron, the current Emir of Qatar, 7 Prime Ministers of England, the two current Royal Princes of Jordan, etc. In the field of business, he has worked as a representative of banking and insurance companies, managing a portfolio of clients investments. He is the founder and CEO of an international digital startup of global language services for business people. In addition to this he holds a professional certificate on editorial multimedia design. In addition, in 2018 he obtained the professional certificate for the production of multimedia editorial products, issued by the Spanish Ministry of Labour after 500 hours of theoretical and practical training.
