Biography

Jovan's an investigative and multi-media journalist with over 10 years' experience in the profession. He currently works with The Jamaica Gleaner newspaper, the oldest publishing in the English-speaking Caribbean having been established in 1834. He's won several awards including the top news (print) journalism award from the Press Association of Jamaica, twice. Jovan is a 2017 Chevening Scholar and a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science in the United Kingdom, with Master of Science Degree in Development Management. I also hold a Master's Degree in Development Studies from the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media and Communications from the Caribbean School of Media and Communication (CARIMAC) - both from The University of the West Indies. He draws development experience from having worked in international development with the European Union; taught media, communication, and journalism at CARIMAC and the University of Technology, Jamaica. He has co-authored a Transparency International research paper on combating corruption in blended finance. Jovan currently serves as treasurer of the Press Association of Jamaica.
