Biography
Judith A. (Harrison) Warner, who writes under the name Judy Warner, is an editorial project manager who specializes in coverage of corporate governance issues and the imperative work of boards of directors. She is the founder and principal of ComAve, an independent multimedia advisory firm originally established in 2000 after she left a 15-year tenure at "Adweek" magazine that culminated in her advancement to New England bureau chief (1990-2000). The relaunch of ComAve in early 2022 follows Warner's departure from the National Association of Corporate Directors, where she served as an editor for 11 years—the last seven as editor in chief of "Directorship" magazine. Warner has a well-earned reputation for editorial integrity, creativity, and vision built over a now-30-plus-year career as a manager, producer, reporter, writer, and editor. She began her journalism training in the newsroom of "The Boston Globe." She has lived, worked, and together with her husband, William D. Warner, raised a family in greater Boston. Of equal importance, she and her four sisters grew up on a progressive ESOP-owned dairy farm in southern Vermont, where she began to foment her love of reading, storytelling, and cows. An early appreciation for the importance of business and politics was sparked at the dinner table during frequent sparring sessions with her entrepreneurial father. Her lifelong admiration for the printed word was nurtured as the middle child of an indomitable literary-minded mother and as a reader, delivery gal, and high-school columnist for "The Bennington Banner." She is a graduate of Northeastern University with a BS in journalism.
