Biography
A graduate of University of Hawaii and a native of Honolulu, Karen has covered the news from one corner of America to another both on the ground and in the air. She is currently an anchor/reporter for iHeart media in Miami, 610WIOD. She has worked as a news anchor for ABC TV affiliates WPBF in West Palm and WCJB in Gainesville, was a helicopter traffic reporter and photojournalist for WCBS in New York, and has worked locally for NBC South Florida and Majic 102.7. UPI named her Best Reporter in Florida and she was once called the “Fastest Woman In Hawaii” by USA Today after attending school on a Running scholarship. Karen is also a book author and wrote the non-fiction, investigative true crime novel, “The Accuser,” www.theaccuserbook.com about the Big Dan’s Gang rape victim who died in an accident after being relocated to South Florida. The case changed the way rape trials are covered including the William Kennedy Smith rape trial in Palm Beach. In her spare time she paints in watercolors and takes care of her elderly father. She is particularly proud of her daughter, Katrina, who is a digital designer in Atlanta. Karen lives in Delray Beach.
