Biography

Karla has covered sports since she was studying the B.A. in Communications (2006). She began her professional career in Mexican newspaper El Financiero and later freelanced fot several magazines of Grupo Expansión and Editorial Televisa, two major Mexican publishing houses. From 2010 to 2015 she wrote for CNNMéxico, CNN en Español and CNN International. In that period, she published over 250 stories, one of them nominated for the LPGA Global Media Awards, becoming the only Latin American journalist and the youngest ever to achieve such honor. She also served as Field Producer for Vive el Golf, a CNN en Español TV Show hosted by Lorena Ochoa. From 2011 to 2015 she was a Featured Columnist for the Mexico Football and Golf sections at Bleacher Report. In 2015 Karla became FoxDeportes.com Editor-in-Chief, where she's responsible of the editorial policy, as well as the branded video. She also narrates the U.S. Open (golf) for Fox Deportes' TV channel. She has covered a handful of sporting events: UEFA Champions League final, Super Bowl, Mexico National Team games, LPGA and PGA Latinoamérica tournaments, to name a few. During her career she has interviewed world class athletes, such as Andrea Pirlo, David Villa, Kaká, Steven Gerrard, Rory McIlroy, Lorena Ochoa, Maria Sharapova, among others.
