Biography

Executive Editor of School Library Journal. My beat: Education, tech, libraries, social justice. I have broad responsibility for this award-winning print publication, website, and newsletters, which serves the K-12 and library communities. SLJ content includes news & features encompassing education, technology, books & authors, literacy (basic, digital), industry news; and best practices in K-12 & libraries. I'm responsible for developing the editorial calendar and also manage our network of blogs and social media. A "Maker Workshop" virtual learning course; a dedicated theme issue on diversity; one upcoming on teens; and a partnership with the nonprofit We Need Diverse Books are among the projects I've spearheaded. Additionally, I serve on the board of trustees of the Freedom to Read Foundation, and am currently directing research on the censorship of books about diverse characters and/or written by diverse authors.
