Biography

For over five years, I have focused on acquiring increasingly complex roles as a medical reviewer and editor in the health sciences. I have been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for over 25 years, with an unusual mastery of numerous medical specialties and teaching methods. These experiences led me to use the written word to reach consumers with life-changing information, thus my current role as a medical editor and writer. My past experiences include managing my telehealth/nutrition consulting business, directing a continuing education program for RDs and nurses, consulting for long-term care regulatory affairs, working with various State and local health departments, coordinating diabetes education programs, and several other roles. Skill areas include health promotion, counseling, academic teaching, endocrinology, psychiatry/mental health, supplements, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, aging, and alternative medicine. I continue to be passionate about topics related to the root causes of disease. About three years ago, I obtained my Integrative and Functional Nutrition certification from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The philosophy in this series influences my teaching approach even today in the writing sciences.
