Biography
Keith Edwards is a travel writer, photographer, food and wine writer living in Toronto, Canada His travel and photographic work appear in the high-end lifestyle magazine Homefront. His food and wine writing appears in their Meandering Epicurist column. Born and educated in London, England his love of travel began when as a 21st birthday present to himself he rented a car and traveled alone around Morocco. From labyrinthine city souks to the vast emptiness of the desert he met fascinating people, ate and drank with them, and so began a life long fascination with other cultures. Keith emigrated to Canada in 1972 with his wife Carol and worked in the financial services business. With semi-retirement he was able to travel extensively. In 2011 he was approached by the editor of Homefront to write an article for the magazine on a luxury resort in Chile. Since then he has written about such diverse subjects as polar bears, abandoned settlements in Canada’s sub arctic regions, floating lodges in Cambodia, the stunning wine region of the Western Cape in South African and the spectacular arid Atacama Desert. He has visited India most countries in Central and South America, many European countries, Turkey, Syria, Hong Kong, Japan, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan & China. Keith has always had an interest in food and wine which led to him being asked to write the Meandering Epicurist column in addition to travel writing. He has written about the wines of the Ahr valley in Germany in addition to wine tours of the Western Cape and Chile. He has sampled all manner of food from fried grasshoppers to whale blubber. His hobbies include cooking, photography, flying light aircraft and genealogy. Keith also serves on the Board of the Canadian Abilities Foundation a charity assisting persons with disabilities and those that care for them.
