Biography
My name is Kyle Hyatt and I have a car problem. I’ve been hopelessly addicted to cars and car culture since my first trip to what was then called Seattle International Raceway with my dad to watch the vintage races. From that point on, I became unfit for anything that didn’t involve wheels, engines, gasoline, and oil. In the intervening years since that fateful trip, I’ve managed to do nearly every job in the automotive industry at least once. I’ve worked behind retail and dealership parts counters and I worked on the game Forza Motorsport 4. I delivered press fleet cars to journalists and curated an online Porsche parts catalog. Finally, I found my great passion in writing about cars and the culture that surrounds them. I’ve been working as an automotive writer and ghostwriter for seven years. In addition to writing, I also hosted the CarStories podcast for the Petersen Automotive Museum. I love sitting down with people from the automotive and motorcycle industry (and those people outside the industry who just love cars) to explore their unique histories with cars and make a deeper connection with other gearheads around the world. Also, we talk a lot about bagged milk. Born in Washington State and raised in the greater Seattle area. I'm now based in Los Angeles and have lived up and down the West Coast. I have a lovely wife, four cats, a 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280se and a 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera.
