Biography

I am currently serving as the top editor of the Centerville Daily Iowegian newspaper. The Daily Iowegian is a five-day daily newspaper covering Appanoose and Wayne Counties with roughly 1,200 subscribers. I began at the Daily Iowegian full-time as sports editor, an appointment that came three months before I graduated high school in 2011 and after a year of correspondent work. In July 2016, I became the associate editor at the Daily Iowegian. My time was short, as after Thanksgiving 2016 I was promoted to managing editor of the Knoxville Journal-Express, a sister paper to the Daily Iowegian. In April 2017, after the untimely passing of the Daily Iowegian editor, I was called back to my home to become the newspaper's top editor at the age of 24. As editor, I oversee two full-time reporters and the newspaper's correspondents. I help plan and execute special sections, newsroom goals, as well as improvement and reimagining of multiple products. Since 2016, I have been a committee member for the Iowa Newspaper Association's all-state committee.
