Lauren earned her journalism degree from the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism and won multiple state writing awards while refreshing her portfolio at Santa Rosa Junior College where she wrote and edited for The Oak Leaf, supported the newsroom's back-end operation and assisted the program's adviser.
