Biography
I am finishing my final year as an English student at Trinity College Dublin. During my time there, I have gained skills in the areas of news reporting, arts and cultural journalism and interviewing. I spent 2021 until 2023 in TN2 as both Deputy Theatre editor and subsequently Literature editor. During my time in these roles, I edited over fifty articles from multiple sections, ensuring their compliance with the style guide of the magazine. In the summer of 2022, I interned at Gay Community News, Ireland's longest-running free queer magazine and news outlet. I did this during the weekdays and continued in my part-time retail role on weekends. While there, I researched, wrote and published over thirty articles across a variety of topics related to the LGBTQ community. While there, I gained the skillset required for news reporting. I would write between 1-3 articles a day, often with a deadline of two hours each. I had the opportunity to interview the founder of BeLonGTo, Ireland's LGBTQ youth charity, which was the cover story on the October 2022 issue of the magazine. Most recently, I have undertaken the role of Deputy News Editor with the University Times. This has been an incredible opportunity to hone my skills in news reporting, allowing me to dissect and investigate topics that are at the heart of the student experience.
