Biography

I'm an award-winning freelance journalist and photographer covering breaking news and underreported community stories in Spain. I work in both English and Spanish with El País, BBC, The Guardian, Times, Al Jazeera, El Diario, and more, including radio stations and channels. In 2016, I founded Madrid No Frills, a narrative-driven hyperlocal media project focusing on Madrid's social impact and movements, and celebrating local culture. MNF has a following of over 50,000, and a team of regular contributors. I'm a trained teacher and run journalism and photography courses for school and university students and professional journalists looking to expand their field. I'm an experienced public speaker and organise free talks to expand the dialogue around the stories I'm investigating.
