Biography

Lisa Spinelli is a freelance journalist and editor with 10 years of experience under her belt. She spent her childhood and adolescence living mostly in Rome, Italy and loving nearly every minute of it. After living out of boxes for more years than she can count, she's finally settled back near her family in Northern Virginia, right outside Washington, D.C. After receiving her Master of Science degree in print journalism from Columbia University in 2004, Lisa worked across the country and in Italy as a journalist, editor and Web editor. She has published hundreds of articles with such reputable news sources as the Associated Press, Houston Chronicle, Chicago Tribune, Boston Phoenix, Red Herring, Patch.com, Oklahoma Gazette and many more. In addition to her reporting and editing skills, she has also spoken at Columbia University about New Media topics, written press releases, blog posts, white papers and websites--among many other PR materials--for a number of companies in the D.C. area. She has managed media teams and social media accounts to help build a community of readers and has been writing a dual-memoir for longer than she cares to admit. In her spare time, she's found swimming, dancing in her kitchen with her three children, or trying out every Italian restaurant in the tri-state area.
