Albuquerque Journal

The Albuquerque Journal is a daily newspaper based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with a history that dates back to 1880. Originally launched as the Golden Gate, it became the Albuquerque Daily Journal later that same year and adopted its current name in 1925. The newspaper is owned by the Journal Publishing Company and is one of the few family-operated newspapers in the United States, currently managed by the Pepperday-Lang family. The Albuquerque Journal publishes a daily edition from Monday to Saturday and a separate Sunday edition. It also produces regional papers, including Journal North, El Defensor Chieftain, Rio Rancho Observer, and Valencia County News-Bulletin. The newspaper has a daily print circulation of 96,825 and serves a broad audience across New Mexico and neighboring states. Its digital presence attracts over 1.6 million unique visitors each month, although print remains its primary focus. The Journal is committed to independent journalism and has a strong emphasis on local news and community issues.
