Biography
Louis Keene is a writer based in Los Angeles. Louis's reporting and commentary on the NBA has been published in New York Magazine, VICE Sports, SB Nation, RealGM, and elsewhere. He currently writes Unstatable, a weekly newsletter about the Clippers. Since 2017, he has also been a field reporter for the New York Times, where he contributes to breaking news, feature, and investigative articles about the Southern California area. For the Times, he has contributed reporting on elections, strikes, federal court cases, mass shootings, and the Russia Investigation. In 2019, he received a Master's in Urban Planning from University of Southern California, with a concentration in transportation and infrastructure. His research at USC focused on transit fare policy, both as a determinant of mode choice and as an equity issue. In March of that year, he was named the 2019 Sol Price Summer Research Fellow at the White House Historical Association. At the WHHA, Louis wrote and edited articles about the role free and enslaved blacks played in the conception of the nation's capital, and contributed posts on presidential history for the non-profit organization's social media channels (250,000 followers). For two seasons of ABC's The Bachelor, Louis distributed a weekly commentary on the show as a newsletter called Bachletter. Currently, he writes a column on religion for the Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles, which appears every other week on the newspaper's back page (distribution 200,000).
