Biography
Ski blogger, ski journalist and book author, Louise Hudson is an expert skier with 46 years of serene and scary skiing experiences in most of the mountains of Europe, Canada and USA. She is currently living in Sun Peaks, BC, Canada where she is working for the Sun Peaks Independent News, SNOW magazine in the USA, Silver Travel Advisor in the UK, and Style Altitude in Europe. While living in Europe in the 80s and early 90s, she worked as an overseas representative in French and Swiss resorts for Crystal Holidays. Moving to Canada in 1999 to maximize her days on snow, she has since skied most of the Alberta and British Columbia resorts and has been writing prolifically about snowsports since 2005. Trained as a journalist in Sussex, England during the 80s, her first ski assignment was with the Calgary Herald and her stories about heli- and cat-skiing trips filtered across Canada via More Magazine and the Globe and Mail. Since then she worked for three years as the ski columnist for Snowscene in the Calgary Sun, contributing multiple snowsports’ articles every week throughout the five-month winter season to newspapers and websites across the Canoe network reaching every major city of Canada. Despite living in South Carolina from 2010-2019, she skied extensively in both Canada and the USA over nine seasons, writing for the Los Angeles Times Travel section about ski technology and for the Dallas Morning News Ski section about Canadian and US resorts and general wintersports travel trends. She has freelanced for USA Today Guides, Eat Drink Travel Mag, TravelMag.co.uk, the Globe & Mail, Boston Globe, Houston Chronicle, Calgary Herald and Calgary's Child magazine.
