Biography

I spent my early childhood living by the warm Peruvian coast. Later, in a complete change, I moved to snowy Ohio. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in French from North Carolina State University in 2017 with recognition as Summa Cum Laude. I am currently a multi-platform journalism graduate student and Howard Fellow at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism. I work under the direction of Sean Mussenden in data analytics. I am the social justice and political advocacy staff writer at the Diamondback. From studying abroad and working in Belgium, to landing my first journalism research job at The McClatchy Company, I found my passion for storytelling and helping to express in writing the voice of a diversity of people. I seek to uncover public affair stories, pursue research into government accountability and learn best practices to target news for underrepresented minorities.
