Biography

I am a curious creator that seeks to shine a light on the stories that are overlooked at. I use photography and other media art to talk about subjects that are considered taboo or even uncomfortable to talk about. My curiosity for the outside world, artistic vision, and passion for the truth lead me to obtain a degree in Journalism, with a focus on Trauma and Print, and a second degree in International Relations, focus on Latin America and Envrionmental Sustainability and Development from Boston University. My work includes photojournalism, photography, print journalism, and both expressive and creative writing. My passion for writing and artistic eye lead to an interesting genre of aesthetic but investigative journalism. In addition to my publications, I have also worked a stringer for the New York Times. In addition to my work as a journalist. I also have a passion for sustainable development. I understand the struggles of Less Developed Countries. One of my goals is to bring awareness and create plans to increase their livelihoods. I have deep political understandings and cultural connections that lead me to see the struggles of the rural world. As a Mexican woman, I see the injustices in society. I want to be the voice of those who can’t speak and be a representative of my community. My hopes are to someday attend law school and work in immigration law. I was born and raised in Mexico City and moved to Houston, Texas to spend my teenage years. Having the cultural cross between American and Mexican culture has led to a unique experience. I have been told several times that I “don’t look Mexican”, struggled to find good tacos, and have a weak spot for rom-com.
