Mark Pendergrast, an Atlanta native, is a Harvard graduate with a master's in library science from Simmons College. He is the author of numerous books, including City on the Verge, Memory Warp, For God, Country and Coca-Cola, Inside the Outbreaks, and Uncommon Grounds. He has been called "the ultimate freelance journalist with an eclectic mind" and has written books on a wide array of subjects, ranging from coffee and Coca-Cola to mirrors and false memories.
