Biography

Maya Tribbitt is a business journalist interested in the entertainment and technology industry. Maya has been published in The Hollywood Reporter and Bloomberg News and has previously interned with the Office of U.S. Senator Kamala Harris and Amazon Studios. Most recently, she interned for HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver where she pitched stories, researched topics and found footage for the show. She is currently studying journalism at the University of Southern California, Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. This summer, Maya successfully completed an internship at Bloomberg News where she covered Big Tech, Silicon Valley and the intersection of politics, technology and entertainment. She published nearly two dozen pieces ranging from enterprise, to breaking news to earnings calls. Her work was picked up by The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe and more. Maya was awarded the Hedy LaMarr Achievement Award for Emerging Leaders in Entertainment Technology from the Digital Entertainment Group, alongside USC Dean, Willow Bay. She was also awarded the Founders Scholarship by the National Association of Black Journalists. She is looking for full-time job opportunities in print and digital journalism and entertainment.
