Biography

Melinda Lorge is an energetic freelance writer, producer and multimedia reporter. Her most recent work can be seen on RareCountry.Com, a Cox Media Group subsidiary. After joining Rare Country in early 2016, Melinda immediately got to work covering news on entertainment and some of country music’s biggest names, including Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Dolly Pardon and Blake Shelton. She also worked as a late-night beat writer covering competition shows like “The Voice” and “American Idol,” and developed stories on major events like the CMA Awards and ACM Awards. Prior to writing for Rare Country, Melinda interned at Rolling Stone’s Nashville bureau RS Country, the National publication’s home of country music. She also tackled local stories in her area as a package reporter for MT10 news, a student-run news station in Murfreesboro, TN. Melinda was born and raised in the small town of New London, Wisconsin and attended New London High School. She moved to Nashville in 2009 and later graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations and minors in Marketing and Writing. In college, she not only contributed to the school’s 30-minute newscast every week, but she was also a representative for MTSU’s Public Relations Student Society of America and wrote feature stories for the campus newspaper. Additionally, she held five internships in the entertainment business, including Country Music Television and “Talk of the Town,” WTVF News Channel 5’s midday show. Melinda has an undeniable love for music and entertainment! She is known for her sunny personality and pleasant smile and can always bring warmth to a room while informing the public.
