Melissa Miles McCarter (born 1975, in Houston, TX) is an American editor, memoirist, and novelist. McCarter has written numerous articles and columns about mental illness and popular culture, infertility, and postfeminism. She was also a blogger for The Huffington Post. She lives in the small rural community of Arcadia Valley in Southeast Missouri where she has been active in community development. Mccarter is also a senior communications consultant who has collaborated with ABC Entertainment, University of Missouri, Plan B, Swell, and more. She has ghostwritten for hundreds of clients. Mccarter has a PhD in English, Rhetoric and Composition. She is a former English Professor.
