I am an award-winning journalist, host and media entrepreneur who built a distinguished career in television news and digital media with work that centers on reporting issues impacting the global Black diaspora. I’m known for dynamic coverage that consistently highlights underreported stories impacting the Caribbean region, the African American community and the greater African Diaspora as well as developing and managing strategic international content partnerships. I am the founder and CEO of Mel & N Media Group, a media consulting and production company at the forefront of diverse storytelling that centers on Global Black diaspora voices. Mel & N Media Group produces premium print, digital and video content for media organizations as well as travel and lifestyle brands. We focus on telling inclusive stories that increase visibility and diversify the representation and equitable coverage of the Black diaspora globally. For six years, I traversed the Caribbean region as a television correspondent for outlets such as One Caribbean Television, CBS News US Virgin Islands and NBC BLK. An experienced international reporter and Caribbean expert, I am a contributing news and politics editor at ESSENCE and a travel contributor to National Geographic.com. My work has also regularly appeared on Huffpost.com, theGrio.com and ABC News among others. In addition to reporting, producing, and consulting, I regularly address organizations, schools and conferences as a keynote speaker, panelist, host and workshop presenter at venues across the United States and the Caribbean Region.
