Biography

Michael Kusek conceived of DIFFERENT LEAF following a chance conversation with a friend with a passion for cannabis cultivation. Following a few evenings of newsstand research he realized no magazine was effectively reaching the older cannabis consumer – one with little or no experience with the plant but who would be open to introducing, or reintroducing, it into their life. Part reference and part lifestyle guide, never stuffy, and beautifully designed, DIFFERENT LEAF presents editorial covering the people, products, businesses, and issues of the burgeoning cannabis industry to sophisticated consumers hungry for quality-crafted sourced editorial. The first issue of DIFFERENT LEAF premiered in July, 2019. Prior to founding DIFFERENT LEAF, he published the award-winning arts magazine TAKE and worked in public relations & marketing for over 20 years providing consulting to a portfolio of national and regional organizations, individuals, and businesses. Kusek resides in the hills of western Massachusetts.
