Biography
I'm Michaela Ratliff, currently a digital producer at WGHP FOX8. I am a graduate of the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University where I received a Bachelor's of Science in Journalism & Mass Communications (Multimedia) in May 2018. My journalism career began in January 2016 when I was chosen to anchor for the entertainment segment of Aggie News & Views, a student-operated news program at A&T. The following semester, I completed an internship as a sideline reporter at TenWebTV, providing improv commentary during high school football games. In June 2020, I became the editorial intern for Triad City Beat, a biweekly alternative newspaper providing news, opinion and cultural coverage of the Piedmont Triad. There, I further sharpened my news reporting skills and found my beat in arts and entertainment from the minority perspective. Six months later, I was brought on as a regular contributor, being praised for my quick grasp of material, interesting pitches and growth in writing. In June 2024, I started as digital producer at FOX8.
