Biography

A born-and-bred New Yorker, I specialize in both journalistic and content writing and writing. I have been living and reporting from the Middle East for quite some time for both mainstream and religion-oriented publications. People ask: What do you write about? The answer is: Just about anything taking place in Israel, the Palestinian-ruled areas, and neighboring countries. I also write journalistic pieces unrelated to the Middle East ("The Men Who Secretly Love Outlander"), travel stories, food stories, science stories... just about everything. What I think makes me different from many of the other journalists based here is the fact that I regularly write for publications with vastly different readerships. I'm as comfortable working in the West Bank as I am in Tel Aviv. I've also got a knack for spotting trends because I tune into real people as well as the news media. I ride local buses and listen-in to peoples' conversations. I shop at the shuk and talk to real people, Jewish, Muslim, Christian, local and foreign workers. I didn't parachute into the region. I live it, and I believe that makes my articles stronger, the people I interview more real. That's what people say, anyway. Specialties: Anything having to do with Israelis and Palestinians, but especially issues related to the religious lives of Jews, Muslims and Christians. I'm an expert on religious conversions to Judaism and Israel-Diaspora Jewish affairs. I'm also personally interested in social-economic issues, inequality, discrimination, women,and children. But also, so much more. In addition to writing, I love to edit. For the past 3 years I have been the staff content editor at EyeCarePro, an international company with 100 employees.
