Biography

I studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge, then did a PhD at King's College London in psychology & genetics, followed by post-doctoral positions in Switzerland, Slovenia and University College London. I began writing about science policy (outside of academic papers) in 2013. I founded the campaign group Scientists for EU in May 2015. In 2019, I founded March for Change Campaign Ltd., which in 2020 established the "Bylines Network" of local citizen journalism titles in collaboration with Byline Times. Those regional publications currently include: Yorkshire Bylines, West Country Bylines, North East Bylines, West England Bylines, Central Bylines, Sussex Bylines and Kent Bylines.
