Biography

In three short years, Mike has covered everything from high school sports to the Indianapolis 500, including two trips to the Final Four. Mike is in the final year of study for a M.A. in sports journalism from IUPUI. After two years as a sports clerk at the Indianapolis Star, Mike took on a full-time position as the sports writer at The Graham Leader. Part of his coverage will include ranked teams in football and volleyball. With a sharp attention to detail, Mike looks for the story inside of the game story. You'll read a story that might not be noticed inside of a box score. You'll read about the play that turned the tide and made the game. When the game is being played, there are stories from the athletes themselves. Sports stories are more than what happens on the field and Mike works to find those stories to tell.
