Biography

I fell in love with journalism as a teenager in a tiny newsroom in Sulphur Springs High School, where I was the editor-in-chief of The Cat's Tale, the school's monthly newspaper. I competed in State UIL in Headline Writing, and, well, that lit a fire in me. I later joined the Mount Pleasant Tribune as a reporter and page designer, and was promoted to managing editor a year later. I was also the managing editor of the Sulphur Springs News-Telegram, The Paris News, and later, the general manager and editor of the Mount Pleasant Tribune, Pittsburg Gazette, and Steel-Country Bee.
