Biography

Nandan is a company news correspondent for Reuters News' India Headline News team that looks at listed companies in India and a handful of start-ups and interesting sectors such as EVs, edtech and fintech. He has been in the Indian news industry for around two-and-a-half years, starting as an intern at Bengaluru-daily Deccan Herald's sports desk, subsequently reporting on the city's top football league, before joining the DH Web Desk in December 2020. In his near 18-month period at DH, Nandan's daily roles and duties included writing pick-ups, curating stories (sometimes explainers), and pushing out quick one-line copies on ANI or other agencies' news alerts in around 5 minutes. Besides this, he has worked on daily newsletters for two editions of the Indian Premier League, the 2021 ICC Men's T20 WC and also a weekly roundup of political events. He was also tasked with multiple live blogs, from Tokyo 2020 Olympics to the Israel-Palestine tensions that flared up in 2021 and also briefly, the Russia-Ukraine war.
