I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2009. I spent the first eight years of my journalism career covering App State sports and high school sports at my hometown newspaper in West Jefferson, North Carolina. In 2018, I made the transition from sports writing to writing magazine features for the High Country Magazine in Boone and also covering multiple news beats for the High Country Press website.
