Biography

Nick Song is Maine Public's inaugural Emerging Voices Fellowship Reporter. Originally from Southern California, Nick got his start in radio when he served as the programming director for his high school's radio station. He graduated with a degree in Journalism and History from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University -- where he was Co-News Director for WNUR 89.3 FM, the campus station. He's worked at places like KCRW's All Things Considered, the Chicago Blackhawks, and podcasts like Song Exploder and The West Wing Weekly. In 2019, he received a national Edward R. Murrow award for coverage of the 2018 Camp Fire -- the deadliest wildfire in California history. Nick is a diehard fan of the Dodgers and loves the NY Giants. He's thrilled to be at Maine Public and to cover a state as stunning as Maine.
