Biography
I'm originally from the Metro Atlanta-area of Georgia and I consider that my hometown even though I was born in Olathe, KS. I attended the University of Georgia where I majored in psychology (with an emphasis on social psychology) and minored in French. However, I kept writing and taking English/Comp Lit classes because I've always been a writer at heart. Now, I'm a graduate student at NYU's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. I began my "career" as a self-starting music blogger with a website called Music for the Musically Challenged. The blog turned two this year and I plan to keep it up as long as I can. My concentration is in magazine writing. Long form just appeals to me as I'm addicted to good descriptions. In keeping with that I'm currently interning on the online editorial side of New York Magazine after working on the print side this summer. I have a lot of duties, but my favorite is writing the Happenings section of Wendy Goodman's Design Hunting newsletter every week. After I graduate in December, I hope to find work at any publication where I can collaborate with smart, fun people and do some long-form writing of my own.
