Nkechi is a prolific broadcast journalist with over nine years of experience in radio, television and digital broadcasting. I have gained significant experience in financial reporting, public relations, image development and brand building. Nkechi currently works as a Senior Journalist reporter at the BBC covering West Africa, reporting issues in climate change, economy, technology and security. She previously worked as an Interactive Journalist at the BBC, serving World Service languages in West and East Africa the best of data and visual journalism. In addition to telling African stories that address and engage women. In recent years, there’s been a need to utilise digital platforms in information dissemination, helping audiences better understand complex news stories. As such Nkechi is equipped with data visualisation, interactive and other visual journalism skills to satisfy audiences. Prior to the digital innovation experience, Nkechi spent 2 years as a financial journalist at CNBC Africa, producing and reporting business stories, serving the African continent the best of business news from the West African region. Burdened by the need for inclusion, she sought out new story telling techniques which encouraged underserved audiences to consume and engage with the best of simplified business news. More so, as a producer, she created and managed content for the high profile live television show- 'Power Lunch West Africa’, discussing issues of national economy with CEOs and captains of Industries. Nkechi has interviewed leaders in Government, Business and Entrepreneurs across Africa. Prior to this, Nkechi has produced and presented news briefs, top of the hour news bulletins and live cooking shows on radio at ICE 96.1 FM. Moderating panel discussions and compering events are part of her schedule. Nkechi graduated from the prestigious University of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria with a 2.1 Degree in Mass Communication.
