Biography
At a young age, I developed a passion for sports journalism and broadcasting. From starting as a cameraman to commentating basketball games, I've shown leadership and dedication to sports reporting. In high school, I created and managed my high school's athletics Twitter page. I also launched my high school’s broadcasting network where I gave live commentary for boys and girls basketball games. As a freshman at JMU, I immediately began writing for the student newspaper, The Breeze. I covered the football, men's soccer, men's basketball, men's and women's tennis and softball teams. I had the honor of traveling to Charleston, South Carolina, to cover JMU in the 2018 CAA Men's Basketball Tournament. As a sophomore, I covered the 2018 CAA Media Day in Baltimore, Maryland. I’m currently covering the JMU men’s and women’s soccer teams. In September, I launched a sports talk radio show that broadcasts on WXJM 88.7 FM. I covered men’s basketball for a second year and traveled to Charleston, South Carolina, to cover JMU in the 2019 CAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. I was also named Sports Editor for The Breeze for the upcoming year, where I’ll be covering JMU football and managing the sports section. In May, I covered the 2019 CAA Softball Tournament where JMU softball earned its fifth conference title in program history. In the summer of 2019, I interned with the United States Tennis Association Mid-Atlantic Section in Reston, Virginia. I also became a staff writer for the DMV Sports Network, where I wrote about high school sports in the DMV area. I also was a lifeguard at Life Time Athletic. My junior year at JMU was my first as the Sports Editor for The Breeze. On top of managing a section of writers, I began coverage of JMU football. I traveled to each away game and wrote game recaps, feature stories and general news articles. I also covered men's soccer, including its upset over then-No. 1 Wake Forest. In January, I had the privilege of traveling to Frisco, Texas, to provide total coverage of JMU in the FCS National Championship. In the spring, myself and two other former sports editors won first place for our sports pages designs in the Virginia Press Association’s yearly contest.
