Biography

Army Veteran | Military Journalist | Public Affairs Professional | Investigative Reporter | Professional Journalist I graduated college with a Bachelor of Arts and Science, with the full intent to be a journalist. Two paid internships with US Army Cadet Command drove me to military journalism. I applied coast to coast after graduation from the University of Cincinnati and landed with a Texas newspaper working as a general assignment reporter. A city girl outgrew that small down and moved east to work at an Army Public Affairs Office in Georgia, then at an Auburn shuttle company, and finally a South Carolina newspaper under two different roles before I decided to join the U.S. Army as an enlisted public affairs soldier. I did my time and got out to continue my dream of telling the military’s story from outside the uniform. I worked in downtown Savannah, even being promoted to editor-in-chief during my time at Connect Savannah and then landed a fellowship through Military Veterans in Journalism to work for Coffee or Die Magazine. Now, I am seeking to continue my journalism passion but earn enough to keep my dogs fed and my adventures going.
