Future Intelligence (Fi) is an internet-based news site and think tank, producing high quality and influential reports, videos, audio and podcasts. Fi produces the technology radio programme PassW0rd, on the societal effect of technology. Future Intelligence interviewees for national media have included E-Bay founder Pierre Omidyar and UK tech billionaire Mike Lynch. While the 'PassW0rd' has featured some of the leading lights of the technology world. Its interviewees have included internet creator Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Claude Moraes, the former UK MEP and head of the EU's technology committee responsible for GDPR, Lord Clement-Jones chair of the UK Houses of Parliament's AI Committee, James Clark (internet pioneer and founder of Silicon Graphics), Sir David Omand, the former head of GCHQ, Professor Stuart Russell, the godfather of, AI and Vic Hayes the inventor of Wi-Fi to name just a few. PassW0rd is broadcast on the second Wednesday of every month to an audience of 750,000 on the award-winning Resonance FM in London. Fi is responsible for an annual AI conference at the London HQ of the Institution of Engineering Technology. The last AI conference was opened by Sir Dermot Turing, nephew of Alan Turing, the father of modern computing. It is named after Professor Donald Michie, who came up with the concept of Artificial Intelligence while playing chess with Alan Turing at Bletchley Park, the World War II research centre that developed Colossus, the world's first computer used to crack the German's wartime Enigma Code.
