Biography

Energy and climate reporter for Reuters in Madrid. The role includes reporting breaking news, writing enterprise stories and delivering scoops. I covered major international summits and 2023 elections in Spain. I joined Reuters from POLITICO Europe, where I was a Brussels-based technology and competition reporter. I covered major antitrust cases involving big tech companies, such as Google and Amazon, and delivered a deep dive on Big Tech’s lobbying efforts. I also covered subsidies, the EU’s bid to revamp its industrial strategy and big cases at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. Prior to this, I was a senior reporter for Dow Jones in Barcelona, Spain, and contributor to The Wall Street Journal. I coordinated a team of eight reporters and covered business and corporate news, focusing on major banks and insurers in continental Europe. I also contributed to the international and financial coverage of The Wall Street Journal. Born and bred in the turbulent province of Naples, Italy, I am a multimedia, multilingual reporter. The coronavirus pandemic, the measles outbreak in Romania, the terror attack in Barcelona, the Catalan independence referendum, the social and political unrest in the region and the 2018 elections in Italy are some of the stories I covered for The Wall Street Journal. My articles have been published by Reuters, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, CNN and Corriere della Sera, and republished by outlets across the world. I speak Italian, English and Spanish fluently — plus intermediate French — and have reported from Belgium, Italy, Spain, the United States, the U.K. and other countries. In 2014, a Fulbright grant took me to Washington, D.C, where I studied journalism and public affairs, with a concentration in the investigative track, at American University in Washington, D.C. I was also the Investigative Reporting Workshop‘s graduate fellow and an intern on The Washington Post investigative unit. I wrote my first article when I was ten years old. Writing that less-than-70-word text made me understand that I wanted to be a reporter. I have worked as a journalist since 2007, covering breaking news, immigration, terrorism, corporate news, politics, criminal networks, social and environmental issues, criminal justice and international news. I have a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in multimedia journalism and new information professions, both obtained with honors. I have always been a bit of a wanderer and an aspiring globetrotter. While waiting for traveling the world with my Moleskine, a digital recorder and a camera, I talk to people and tell their stories.
