Biography

Washington-based journalist with over a decade of experience, with bylines in various Turkish and English-language news outlets. I have lived in and reported from many cities, including Istanbul, Ankara, London, and New York, covering a wide area from politics to foreign affairs and international diplomacy Currently, I work as a Washington Correspondent for Turkey's largest news agency Anadolu, covering US politics and foreign policy. I have so far covered several high-profile international events, including the UN General Assembly, and Ukraine-Russia peace talks, and interviewed many officials, and diplomats from around the world, including the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine, Luxembourg, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, the energy minister of Azerbaijan, and the head of the UN Migration Organization (IOM). My job as a reporter also have taken me to many cities in Turkey and its region, including the southern provinces bordering Syria, where I covered social and humanitarian issues such as Syrian refugee crisis, and to neighbor Armenia, where I covered diplomatic normalization efforts between the two countries. I have an M.A. in Journalism from the City University of London.
