Biography
I am a former fulltime college English instructor now doing freelance journalism. My work has been mostly feature articles and local news coverage. Currently I am a parttime correspondent working for The Vindicator / Chronicle Tribune out of Warren, Ohio covering social and community events, business openings, and city trustee meetings. I also have a portfolio of restaurant reviews, business profiles, and magazine articles. My background includes several years of public relations writing. I hold a PhD in English and an MFA in creative writing (poetry) from Purdue University and a BA in English from the University of Oregon. I am a classically trained musician and have wide knowledge of the arts. Also, I have a number of academic books in print, many academic articles, and several books of poetry by small arts presses.

The Vindicator is a student run and contributor-based Arts and Culture magazine at Cleveland State University with the overarching themes of multiculturalism, social justice and artistic expression. Celebrating 40+ years of seeking social justice on campus, in the community and on the Earth, our mission is to serve the students of CSU with accurate, opinionated and analytic journalistic content.
