Biography
I began my career in journalism in 2012 as a freelance sports journalist when I launched the Big Z Lacrosse Network, a multimedia lacrosse news site based on YouTube. It was only after a few months of that launch that I was hired at LaxDirt, an online lacrosse news outlet. At first I was assigned as a beat reporter for the Buffalo Bandits indoor lacrosse team. After showing reliability and skill, I started receiving more impactful assignments. Duties included hosting radio shows, investigative pieces, and post game analysis with interviews. Then in late 2014, I was hired to the staff of In Lacrosse We Trust, the premier lacrosse news outlet on the web. My duties expanded even more, including a lot of multimedia work. I continue to regularly contribute to ILWT as a league wide reporter and occasional columnist. In 2015 I appeared on the ABC affiliate Channel 7 WKBW's Eyewitness News as an expert on Native American social issues. My interview segment appeared on WKBW for several weeks and print versions of the interview appeared on WKBW.com and several Fox News affiliates around the country. During this time I became a recurring guest host on "Let's Talk Native" a talk show hosted by John Kane on WWKB/ESPN Radio 1520 AM. "Let's Talk Native" provides commentary on Native American social, political, and economic issues. More recently (July 2015), I served as the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Kenmore Post, a digital newspaper that covers Kenmore and the Town of Tonawanda. I oversaw the staff of nearly half a dozen reporters, was chief political reporter, and administered both the website and social media accounts of The Post. While concurrently serving as publisher, I led a superb team of young journalists to create hard news coverage for a community that was in dire need of it. In addition to my outside journalism ventures, I was fortunate enough to gain an internship at the Investigative Post (a non-profit investigative reporting outlet) while still a senior in high school. While interning at the Investigative Post, I produced and/or edited several multi-media projects for their digital presence. This included interviews with members of Congress, and notable news makers.
