Sajad Rasool is a journalist and activist from India-controlled Kashmir. He co-directed Kashmir Unheard in 2014 after finishing his Masters in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Kashmir. Kashmir Unheard is part of a larger network of Video Volunteers, a media and human rights organization, to empower the most disadvantaged communities whose voice is missing in the larger spectrum of media. In the past six years of his journalistic career under the banner of Kashmir Unheard, Sajad has recruited and trained more than 30 Community Correspondents from Jammu and Kashmir in film-making and storytelling. With a special focus on the stories that remain untold or get less attention in the mainstream media, he and his team at Kashmir Unheard has documented more than 1000 video reports in the past 5 years.
