I'm Saquib Syed, you can call me Syed. I am an arts & entertainment writer focused on sharing stories told in song lyrics. I have been writing for Genius as a Community Editor since 2016. I launched the community initiative called Genius Korea in 2020, bringing different editors, and contributors who enjoyed Korean music under one umbrella with a focus on making song lyrics more accessible to international fans. I began my journey in Korean music in 2013 and have always admired the storytelling in the genre through lyrics and visuals. At Genius Korea, I devised many different ways to promote Korean music on-site and to fans beyond. By launching a Twitter account for Genius Korea, we were able to promote the content we published which includes interviews, reviews, press articles, concert recaps, and more. With a Twitter account with over 17.5K followers and growing, I am able to stay in tune with the content that fans enjoy and incorporate it within the content produced by the Genius Korea community.
