Biography
Sara Tonks joined The Weather Company as a Content meteorologist in August 2024. Sara grew up in Athens, Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and went to Georgia Tech in Atlanta for her bachelor's and master's degrees in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (Go Jackets!). She also recently graduated from Unity Environmental University with an MPS in Marine Science. As an undergrad at Georgia Tech, Sara was a member of the marching band and president of the student chapter of the American Meteorological Society. While working on her master's degree, Sara was a freelance producer for the Weather and Climate department at CNN in Atlanta following an internship in the fall of 2019. Sara's hobbies include reading, longsword fighting, sailing, scuba diving, and talking about her dog Brody.
