I am a creative, dedicated word nerd with more than 3 years of experience in content writing, proofreading and editing. Currently I am a Staff Writer and Office Administrator for the Record Courier, located in Douglas County, Nevada. I have held these positions for over year, where my responsibilities have exceeded my job titles. I am currently the first point of contact for our readers and clients and determine that nature of a customer’s needs and direct callers or walk-ins to appropriate individual or departments. Among my responsibilities are filing, archiving newspapers and maintaining documents, and assist the editorial and advertising department with various projects. As a staff writer I have experience in copywriting and proofreading. I maintain excellent writing, grammar and communication skills. My creativity, precise attention to detail and reliability to meet deadline delivers excellent content for any publication. Not only am I responsible for creating content for print, but editing and proofreading as well. I also assist in design and layout of our publication. Prior to my current position, I have worked under print industries with similar responsibilities for at least 2 years. The content I have experience writing is local news, events, features, business and crime. I am a Nevada Press Foundation award winner, with two 2nd place awards and a Journalist of Merit recognition award.
