Fueled by the eminence of Black history and culture on society, Savannah M. Taylor has dedicated her career and personal efforts thus far to promoting its utmost visibility as a writer, editor, cultural commentator and creative. Born and raised in Springfield, MA—which is integral to her origin story— Savannah is an alumna of Syracuse University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in African American Studies and Communication & Rhetorical Studies. She is passionate about empowering Black voices and futures through a variance of digital storytelling mediums. As a writer and editor, Savannah finds strength in the presence of Black culture on society. She has brought light to the unsung heroes of the world and written feature stories on some of the most well-known luminaries across the Black community such as Dwyane Wade, Pharrell, Jermaine Dupri, Gabrielle Union, Tracey Ellis Ross, Tina Knowles, Kim Fields, Ava DuVernay and Dr. Yusef Salaam of the Exonerated Five. Her work has been featured on many prominent platforms such as the BBC NewsHour and MSNBC. In 2017, Savannah created an organization called The Silhouette Brand as a digital platform to provide Black and Brown youth with access to creative, professional, and personal development opportunities that simultaneously educates, positively exposes and empowers them through culturally conscious programming. The Silhouette Brand was responsible for the execution of “Field Fest,” a two-day virtual empowerment conference in April 2021 that reached over 500 attendees through grassroots organizing and planning. Additionally, she is the co-founder of Forgather, a Tulsa, Oklahoma based social club that explores the food and cultural scene of the city. In addition to her achievements, Savannah is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a historic Black Greek letter organization rooted in public service and social action.
