After the 2018 elections, Karacam had an agreement with Milliyet newspaper and moved to Washington DC. She worked for 5 years as an interview producer, news editor and planning producer for TRT World television in DC office. She worked to expand the channel's guest network reach within American think tanks. Secured interviews with well known names such as Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr Mehmet Öz. After that moved to Start TV and worked as a producer and reporter at the foreign news desk under the direction of Can Ataklı. She returned to TGRT and presented the late-night news show. Continuing as a reporter along with presenting, she prepared human stories and urban/environmental news. She worked in DC for IHA News Agency in 2005-2006. In 2007, she moved to news channel 24 TV in Istwnbul and presented the morning news show. The show granted the European Turkish Journalists Association's the best morning show award. She then moved to TRT and as of May 4, 2009, launched a media critic show called Media Inspector on TRT1 and TRT2. The program based on media critique received an award in 2010. In her program she conducted live interviews with politicians, academics, journalists and representatives of think tanks. While the solution initiative for Turkey’s Kurds and PKK period brought by the government continued, she made a program about Ahmet Kaya, Kurdish-Turkish pop and ethnic music singer who died in self-exile in Paris, on public broadcaster TRT for the first time and she hosted Umit Kıvanç, the producer of the documentary "My Kite Stuck on the Wires", and Gülten Kaya, the wife of Ahmet Kaya. She was been promoted to evening news anchor position at TRT later. Karacam's media critic show was unique. One of the interesting episodes to see on a public broadcast channel was about the "Returning to Life operation”, against the 20 prisons in Turkey in 2000. It caused the death of 30 people along with 2 army members, hundreds of injured. The lack of evidence had huge impact on the trial in favor of officials in charge of operation. She also covered the stories of rogue agents. Her show found and uncovered Tuncay Şekercioğlu, the key figure who escaped death at the last moment with Yesil codenamed, Mahmut Yildirim (a Turkish rogue agent) and whom has never responded to the allegations over the incident of killing of 33 Turkish soldiers by PKK. Sekercioglu speaking to Karacam, on 4 December 2009, brought the dark points to the light in the killing of 33 soldiers during an ambush and he explained Yeşil's role. It has always been discussed the possible support of the deep state to the specific operations just to have an outrage among public in order to have a ground to conduct more operations. Ex member of the parliament from MHP (Natonalist party), Şekercioğlu's interview has historical importance in revealing the unknowns of the 33 soldiers killed in the ambush carried out by the terrorist organization PKK in 1993 in the Bingöl-Elazığ highway area. Because in that incident, it was claimed that Mahmut Yildirim, codenamed Yesil was present, and he escaped at the last moment. In 2017, she has her book released, consisting her media critic show interviews of almost 2 years, called "From Where to Where - Questions asked before the split 2009-2011". Shortly from her book, “Who said what at a time when some media networks and journalists were stigmatized with the concept of being pro-government? How did the known names change their perspectives during the first 15 years of AKP? Is it shameful to change? Is the change sincere? Which interest groups took the power and have taken positions in the governmental institutions of Turkey? .
