Biography

Steve Huff is the former Deputy Digital Editor for Maxim (maxim.com). In addition to hundreds of digital articles covering a wide variety of subjects for the iconic men's magazine, he has also written for the Observer, Crime Watch Daily, Complex, and Village Voice Media. One of the original and most popular true crime bloggers, Steve appeared on CBS's 48 Hours Mystery, HLN, MSNBC and NBC's Dateline as a commentator on numerous high-profile criminal cases. For Village Voice Media, Steve launched True Crime Report—one of the first major crime blogs—singlehandedly reporting, writing, and editing for the site as pageviews climbed from zero in July 2007 to 20 million in September 2009. Though he branched out from solely covering true crime in 2010, Steve is still closely connected to the booming genre. Between 2017 and 2018 he wrote a true crime column for Real Clear Life/Inside Hook and in December 2019 he appeared as a guest on an episode of the new Investigation Discovery series, If I Should Die. Steve is the author of two official tie-ins for AMC's hit Breaking Bad prequel, Better Call Saul: DON'T GO TO JAIL! Saul Goodman's Guide to Keeping the Cuffs Off, and GET OFF THE GRID!: Saul Goodman's Guide to Staying Off the Radar. A classically-trained vocalist, Steve is an active performer and has performed secondary and leading roles with the Knoxville, Atlanta, and Greater Worcester Opera companies. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Steve lives with his wife, award-winning educator Dr. Dana Huff, in Worcester, Massachusetts.
