Biography
Steve Lubetkin is the news director for State Broadcast News. From May-November 2019, Steve produced and anchored The CRE News Hour, a weekly audio podcast of news, features, and interviews with commercial real estate industry newsmakers. He occasionally reports on commercial real estate news for Real Estate NJ, a print magazine and website based in Roseland, NJ. From July 2014 to May 2019, he reported on commercial real estate news in New Jersey and Philadelphia as a regional editor for ALM Media’s GlobeSt.com. Steve’s journalism background includes print and broadcast reporting for NJ news organizations. His audio and video work has been honored by the Garden State Journalists Association, and he has also been recognized for video by the New Jersey Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. He was elected to the NJ-SPJ board of directors in March 2021, and becomes Board Secretary in June. Steve has also served (from August 2017 to March 2018) as national broadcast news correspondent for CEOReport.com, a news website focused on practical advice for senior executives in small- and medium-sized companies. Steve also has reported on-camera and produced seminar/conference videos for NJSpotlight.com, a public policy news coverage website focused on New Jersey government and industry. SBN has produced roundtable podcasts and videos for NJSpotlight since 2008; and for other clients of SBN. SBN produces a daily radio newscast for “Radio Jersey,” a two-hour rock music show streaming on AsburyMusic.com and MixCloud.com, hosted by Lee Mrowicki, legendary DJ from the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Lee and Steve worked together in broadcast radio at WJLK-AM & FM in Asbury Park in the 1970s. Steve has been the computer columnist for the Jewish Community Voice of Southern New Jersey, since 1996. Steve is co-author, with Toronto-based podcasting pioneer Donna Papacosta, of the book, The Business of Podcasting: How to Take Your Podcasting Passion from the Personal to the Professional.
